Taking Action - With A Bold Move

I’ve just returned to Zachron Yaacov from a trip to Jerusalem. It was wonderful, as always. I am so grateful to see the old and the new of what God is doing. While I was there I was able to go to several high places. From each of these vantage points I had such an incredible view of the city. And in the cool of evening hour we sat outside enjoying the Sabbath as we took in the beauty of the city lights.

My heart was overwhelmed with thankfulness as I silently prayed for the peace of Jerusalem. Being a North American, (yet first and foremost – a child of God) I am thankful that we are joined with Israel and that our government relations are in good standing today.

I give thanks to the Lord for fruitfulness that I can see (abounding fruit) from the people. How can I say that? Because I can see a shift in how I am received, as a North American, from pervious times I have visited Israel. Both the Jewish and Messianic communities are very happy to have the American Embassy moved to Jerusalem as promised for decades. Yes, a promise fulfilled by the United States government recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. This is a powerful year in which I hear many beleivers proclaim it as "a year of new beginnings," on May 14th 2018 Israel also celebrated the nation’s 70th year anniversary.

This is truly a significant miracle and deeply symbolic for the Israeli people. It will take up to ten years for all the staff to move from Tel Aviv and for the building site to be completed, but many people are rejoicing for what has been accomplished thus far.

I haven’t spent much time with the Muslim people here on this trip. Therefore, I have not heard their thoughts regarding the Embassy’s move. When I do have that opportunity I will be sure to ask.

But, what I have seen is people are not as angry as what I saw depicted on the news media and instead I have seen and felt a spirit of celebration rather than anger.

While visiting The United States of America Embassy in Jerusalem my heart was overjoyed to see a promise fulfilled. My prayer is Psalms 122:

“I was glad when they said to me, ‘Let us go to the house of the LORD.’ Our feet are standing within your gates, O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, that is built as a city that is compact together, to which the tribes go up, even the tribes of the LORD – An ordinance for Israel- To give thanks to the name of the LORD. For there thrones were set for judgment, the thrones of the house of David. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:’ May they prosper who love you. “May peace be within your palaces. For the sake of my brothers and my friends, I will now say, “may peace be with you.’ For the sake of the house of the Lord our God I will seek your good.”

Love is shown by action! Today and everyday I choose, “to give thanks to the name of the LORD” wherever I am. Yet at this special time in this special place while I am blessed to be in Israel, I cannot help but be especially grateful for peace and for good relations between The United States and Israel.

I am certain; The United States will prosper at this time as are we unite with Israel. For that is the truth, declared in the Word of the LORD. This bold move of President Trump and Vice President Pence will bless The United States of America. For what good is it if we as a nation promise something continually, yet we fail to take action.

We are called to be a people of word and deed. 1 John 3:11...”let us not love with word or with tongue, but in deed and truth.” I’m proud of our government for taking action and standing with Israel. Let us continue to pray for the “peace of Jerusalem”and that in deed The United States of America will be great, as we as a people and country choose to trust in God and stand with Israel!
